The 'Scavi'

The “Scavi” are the excavations of the underground necropolis under St. Peter’s Basilica. You must request a reservation in advance to see the Scavi. You may do this by sending a fax to the Excavation Office at +(39) 06.6987.3017, an e-mail to scavi@fsp.va, or by phone at +(39)06.6988.5318. Ticket Office hours: Mon-Fri 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.; Sat. 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Closed Sundays and Vatican holidays
