Ambassador Rooney congratulates American Cardinals-elect, March 20, 2006

On March 20, Ambassador Rooney hosted a reception in honor of Archbishops Sean O’Malley of Boston and William Levada of Los Angeles. The two American Archbishops will be elevated to cardinal by His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI at the public ordinary consistory this Friday, March 24, 2006. Ambassador Rooney presented the Cardinals-elect with letters from President Bush, congratulating them on their elevation.
