Ambassador Rooney traveled to Pavia, November 11, 2006

Ambassador Rooney traveled to Pavia, Italy on November 11 to visit St. Augustine’s tomb as part of a celebration of the 750 th anniversary of the foundation of the Augustinian order. As part of the commemoration, Ambassadors accredited to the Holy See were invited to participate in a ceremony in which each nation is permanently represented around the tomb of St. Augustine by an eternal flame.
