Ambassador Rooney Hosts Reception for News Editor, November 21, 2007

On Wednesday, November 21, 2007, Ambassador Francis Rooney hosted a reception in honor of Catholic news editors visiting Rome for consultations with several Vatican offices. Roughly thirty visiting editors of Catholic publications based in the United States attended, as did a number of journalists resident in Rome. Among the local media corps were Fr. Paul Quinter, Editor of the English Edition of L’Osservatore Romano, the Vatican’s official newspaper and John Thavis, the Rome Bureau Chief of Catholic News Service. Cardinal-designate John P. Foley, a longtime journalist himself and past President of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, also attended.
