Embassy Vatican has joined the League of Green U.S. Embassies and commits to adopting environmental-friendly practices in support of the U.S. government's ongoing efforts to enhance energy security and reduce global warming. Members of the Green Embassy League pledge, among other things, to provide leadership by exemplifying and encouraging personal actions that will lead to reductions in greenhouse gas emissions; to increase the use of renewable energy and to begin taking actions to reduce energy usage by 30 percent by 2015; to institute Embassy recycling programs; and to cooperate with the Holy See on energy efficiency and other strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
