Ambassador-Designate Diaz to Present Credentials
The U.S. Ambassador-designate to the Holy See, Miguel H. Díaz, will present his letter of credentials from President Barack Obama to Pope Benedict XVI on Friday, October 2, 2009.
The United States and the Holy See have worked closely together on a broad range of issues for more than 25 years. Our shared priorities include advancing religious freedom and human rights, ensuring peace and security, combating hunger, improving global health, and ending trafficking in persons.
Ambassador-designate Diaz and the embassy team look forward to further collaboration with the Holy See on these and other common objectives, and to strengthening the bilateral relationship between the U.S. and the Holy See, following his accreditation.
